El Questro at dusk, a single bird at rest as the sky fades to grey.

The frame is mostly sky and bare branches — a thin web of lines holding one small silhouette. Black-and-white, no other colour, no other figure. Velvety blacks, soft mid-tones, the long quiet of the Kimberley reduced to its plainest elements. Just the bird, the branches, and the dusk drawing down behind them.

What the photograph holds is the moment a day ends without ceremony. Generous negative space, a single point of attention, and the kind of stillness that asks nothing of the room it hangs in.

The palette is monochrome and restrained — neutral, contemplative, easy to live alongside. Sympathetic to limewash plaster, oak, raw linen, ceramic; settles well into Japandi, Scandinavian and considered minimalist rooms. Best in spaces that lean toward quiet: a study, a reading corner, a hallway, a bedroom that wants stillness rather than statement.
