Lake Argyle from a helicopter, high above the East Kimberley ranges.
The lake stretches across the horizon, dotted with islands and held by a clear high sky; in the foreground, ancient red-rock ridges fold toward the camera in long sculpted lines. The interplay reads as two countries meeting — cobalt water on one side, ochre stone on the other — with the Kimberley sitting open and quiet between them.
What the photograph holds is the scale of an inland sea seen against the country it sits inside. Not a postcard view; a working geography, vast and slow, that goes on past every edge of the frame.
The palette is grounded but lifted by the blue — earthen reds against deep water, easy to live with. Sympathetic to natural timbers, linen, cane and brass, with room for cooler accents in ceramic or stone. Settles well into living rooms, studios, offices and reception areas leaning modern, coastal or rustic.
Printed and framed in a thin gallery profile, matte finish, ready to hang. We tend toward dark wood — never the loudest thing in the photograph — but four frame finishes are offered. Made-to-order · Free Australia-wide shipping · — Two Fat Bunnies.
